Ambikapur, June 28, 2009: Chhattisgarh Government today ordered a magistrate inquiry into the death of a tribal convicted prisoner in Sarguja district.
A convicted prisoner of Ambikapur Central Jail, Kaliram Sai of Korea District, was admitted in the District Hospital on June 1, last for treatment. However, after discharge when he was shifted to the jail, he became unconscious.
At 14.30 Hours of the same day of June 8, he was declared dead by the jail doctor, official sources said here.
Deputy Collector Sarguja S R Kurre has been appointed by the state to probe the death of Sai, they said.
Kurre has sought information or evidences from the people relating to the death of the convicted prisoner within 15 days, they added.
