Raipur, January 26, 2010: Chhattisgarh Governor Shekhar Dutt today sought the active support of the people to the state government in its fight against the Maoists.
The fight of the Government to finish the naxalism was in its final stage, said the Governor after hoisting the national flag in a colourful function at the Police Parade ground here.
Along with the effort of the Government, there was every need for the continuous and active support of the people to end the black chapter of the naxalites, he said.
Dutt also commented as a good sign, the people fighting against the naxal violence and said the sacrifice of the security forces and the people would not go waste.
Highlighting the welfare measures taken up by the state government and especially the pro-poor steps, the Governor said it had been decided to have at least one college in every block of the state.
On the drinking water front, provision had already been made for safe drinking water to 99 per cent villages of the state and in the next three years all the urban local bodies have such facilities, he said.
With labour, dedication and sincerity, the Governor said was sure Chhattisgarh would soon become a developed state of the country.
