     Raipur, April 19, 2011: Raman Government in Chhattisgarh was planning to carry out an ambitious large scale plantation programme in the state with an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore, officials said.

     “The state is planning to carry out large scale plantation programme in the state during July-August,” a top official told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here.

     For the large scale plantation the state is planning to spend Rs 500 crore, the official said.

    The plantation programme would be carried out with the help of various government, semi government and non-government organisations, they added.

     The state government was expecting a huge amount to be received from the Centre under the compensatory afforestation scheme and allocation from the state exchequer would be included in that fund to make the programme a grand success, according to the budgetary provisions.

      The Government was also planning to make the Naya Raipur or the new capital city greener through massive afforestation programme, for which the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has approved a blue print, state officials said.
